Textile artist and designer
Kazuyo visited Carl Larsson-gården while she was weaving at Sätergläntan in 1981. Now, when she came back, she saw the house with different eyes.
–Lilla Hyttnäs is really typically Swedish – and very stripey! The stripes are my interpretation of Swedishness. If I weave a rag-mat it is never really a Swedish rag-mat. In the same way that when Karin embroidered Japanese family crests; they could never really be Japanese!
She shares a studio with several other textile artists in Gothenburg.
And she is careful to differentiate between her work and her private life.
–But I do not differentiate between Carl and Karin. They had such joy together, such zest for life. Their life and work in one, compounded in their house where they openly displayed their mutual existence.
